Since the establishment of our company, Tropical Cable And Conductor Ltd has been committed to providing our customers with consistent good quality cables. We also aimed at continual improvement in all areas of our operations. In this regard, the company decided to establish a Quality Management System based on the requirements of ISO 9001 Quality Management System Standard as far back as the year 2000. The company was first certified in 2004 to ISO 9001: 2000 Quality Management System standard. With regular surveillance audits by a third party independent accreditation body, the company ensures the successful implementation of the quality management system and is being regularly re-certified: first to ISO 9001: 2008 edition standard in 2010 and this year to ISO 9001: 2015. We are the first cable manufacturing company in West Africa and the first manufacturing company in Ghana to attain this re-certification.

Changes in global markets, rapid development of new technologies and easy access and availability of information necessitate industries to adapt to meet the growing needs of customers and at the same time be successful in today’s market place. Such changes also necessitate the regular update of standards to ensure they are relevant to the demands of modern world.

In September 2015, International Organization for Standardization (ISO) published a revised standard ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System requirements standard. With emphasis on sustainable development, strategic direction of the organisation, risk-based thinking and opportunities to improve, continual monitoring of the needs and expectations of internal and external interested parties, the company is set to improve our overall performance and successful implementation of all the requirements of the standard.

To our customers: this certification reassures that the cables they purchase from us are safe, reliable and of a good quality and that the company is up-to-date with the latest developments in International Standards application.

For us: it is a further opportunity to reduce costs by minimizing waste whilst increasing productivity, to look ahead to prevent and analyse the risks related to our industry, and to monitor continually the needs and expectations of all stakeholders including our employees.
